RAK Day: Stark County Humane Society
February 2, 2010
On December 14, 2009, Holly Lieser and Maria Liossis volunteered at the Stark County Humane Society. The Stark County Humane Society cares for abandoned and abused animals in the Stark County region. Their mission is, "We speak for those who cannot speak for themselves."
Lieser and Liossis spent the day caring for the animals, which inlcuded walking the dogs, playing with the cats, and playing with the dogs. It was a very rewarding day to see firsthand the well-kept facility and to meet the helpful and caring staff. It was such a great opportunity to help the animals and to share their happiness with the furry members of the community. One of the biggest joys of their day was seeing a German Shepherd that they had played with earlier that day (but were too nervous to walk - he was a puller!) be adopted by two young women.
